The Ballybunion Golf Club is a golfing club which is situated in County Kerry, Ireland. Established in 1893, the club had just opened its doors before it experienced financial problems. An investment from Colonel Bartholomew rescued the club in 1906, and nine new holes were quickly laid out. By 1927 the course had was grown to 18 holes.

Considered as one of the absolute best links courses in the world, Ballybunion’s reputation grew over time. Regrettably, its remote location on the Irish southwest coast has stopped the course from being selected for a lot of top championship events. This course was designed in 1984 by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. During his second term in office, U.S. President Bill Clinton played the course in September 1998. A sculpture of him with a golf club in the town of Ballybunion honours the visit. After leaving office, he went back in May 2001.
